West Ham United will begin their 08/09 Premier League campaign with an upgraded home kit. Keeping with their traditional claret and blue colours, this shirt is very similar to last season's effort. Nevertheless, the few differences that have occurred does make the shirt look even nicer. The sponsor has now added "holidays" to the XL part and although I'm not a fan of large sponsors the extra white on the front of the shirt looks really nice. The other big change is the club has removed the white and blue patterns on the shoulders leaving them just claret which makes the shirt look neater. Overall, Umbro has once again done the business.
West Ham have also created a brand new away shirt for the new Premier League season. The previous white away shirt has been downgraded to the 3rd kit for the campaign. Umbro has created a predominately light blue kit with a stripe of claret and a stripe of white overlapping the club badge and Umbro logo. Overall, I like the light blue colour used but am not a fan of the claret and white stripes at the top which gives the shirt a training ground feel. Not a bad effort but could have been better.
As stated above, West Ham are using last season's away kit as their 3rd kit for this campaign. The shirt is white with touches of claret and blue on the shoulder and the XL sponsor in dark blue. Overall, the shirt is nice but lacks character and you can understand why it was demoted to the 3rd kit
