The newest club in the MLS have certainly hit the mark with their 2008 shirts. Again, the red, black and grey combination may be a little odd for some tastes, but I think that it looks well. Without the grey strip, the red shirt with black adidas design and three-stripe trim is reminiscent of a Bayer Leverkusen kit, but the addition of the grey really sets this shirt apart. As well as proudly displaying the red of the maple leaf on the Canadian flag of course!
Grey kits have been much-maligned since Manchester United's failures in their dull strip of old. However, the MLS is treated as a bit of a novelty both within and outside of the US, so this kit is somehow acceptable. With a grey base colour, and red and black trim, this is probably better than the home kit in terms of originality. For that reason, one to buy if you collect shirts.
