Sweden unveil new home and away kits

European nation Sweden have revealed their new home and away kits that they will mainly wear throughout the 2012 European Qualification campaign.

The team successfully qualified for Euro 2008 but were placed in a tricky group stage along with Spain, Russia and Greece. A 2-0 victory over the Greeks was followed by a disheartening last minute defeat to eventual champions Spain. A defeat to Russia in their final match sent them out of the tournament in the first round. The 2010 World Cup qualifiers were fairly disastrous for the Sweedes as they failed to qualify for South Africa 2010. Two good draws against Portugal were overshadowed by two defeats to fierce rivals Denmark and a poor draw to Albania. The failure saw Lars Lagerback resign after nine years with the national team.

The new Sweden 2010/12 home kit contains a predominately yellow shirt with dark blue piping down the sides and around the underarms. Manufacturers Umbro place their dark blue logo in the top right of the shirt whilst the national badge is present in the top left. Other details include a dark blue V neck collar and dark blue patches on the edges of the sleeves.

The new Sweden 2010/12 away kit contains a predominately dark blue shirt with even darker patches on the edges of the sleeves and on the round neck collar. Manufacturers Umbro place their yellow logo in the top right of the shirt whilst the national badge is situated in the top left.
