Northampton fans protest over away kit

Angry Northampton Town fans have been flooding message boards with complaints over the club’s new away kit design.

The Cobblers, who were relegated to League Two at the weekend, recently gave supporters the chance to vote for one of three options for the team’s new away kit. However, the new light blue kit that was recently launched did not appear on the original vote.

The new colour has sparked an outcry including comments such as “It’s one thing being sent to Coventry but another to be wearing their kit” and “I will not be buying a season ticket because I can not support a team in blue”.

David Cardoza, club chairman, said: “We thought we’d try something different and see how it goes. I like it and I don’t foresee any problems selling.”

Tony Clarke, Director, said: “I don’t care what kit we play in as long as we get three points, and next season is a more successful campaign.”
