New Bayern Munich 110th anniversary home kit
German giants Bayern Munich have revealed their new home kit that they will wear throughout the 2010/11 Bundesliga season.
The new home design has been designed especially for the club’s 110th anniversary and will be made available for sale on the 3rd May. The kit takes a retro look and was released under a “Legends and Loyalty” motto.
The club have not been the complete dominant force in the Bundesliga over the past couple of years. In the last five years, they have won the domestic league three times yet have been put under more pressure from up and coming teams such as Stuttgart, Wolfsburg and Hamburg amongst others. However, they are currently sitting two points clear of 2nd place Bayer Leverkusen after 24 games of the 38 match season. The team has also had moderate success in the Champions League recently. Munich are often regulars at the knock out phase but rarely go beyond the quarter finals. They have drawn Florentina in the 2nd round this year and currently lead after the first leg.

The new Bayern Munich 110th anniversary home kit contains a shirt with red and white vertical stripes that run throughout the body. Manufacturers Adidas place their white logo centrally below the red round neck collar whilst the three traditional white stripes run down the shoulders. The national badge is situated in the top left and sponsors “T Mobile” present their large black logo across the centre of the shirt. Shown below, a depiction of Gerd Muller, the all time leading Bayern Munich goalscorer, is present on the inside of the collar.
