Champions Manchester United will begin their campaign with the same home shirt as last season. The shirt, manufactured by Nike, sees United move into the second year of a four year deal with AIG. This will see United bring out a new home shirt at the beginning of the 2009/2010 season. I really like the current United shirt. The simple design of badge and manufacturer logo opposite each-other with the sponser in the middle blends very well with the traditional red colour. I don't think Manchester United fans would complain if this shirt was to stay their home shirt for some time.
The black away shirt worn by Manchester United last season has been replaced by a brand new white one. The new shirt has the same layout as the home shirt but with different colours. Personally, I think this looks a lot better than the old black shirt which was fairly dull and uninspiring. The new predominately white number blends well with a navy blue collar and 2 thin navy stripes on either side of the shirt. I think this shirt will go down very well amongst Manchester United fans.
Manchester United also enter the 2008/2009 season with a very nice looking dark blue 3rd shirt. The shirt, which has the same design layout as the home and away shirts, has a predominately blue base with a silver typeface. The shirt also adds a nice effect with some thin silver lines running horizontally down the torso. My only problem with this shirt is it looks very similar to the goalkeeper jersey worn by Manchester United last season. If you can get over that then this new modern shirt is a very nice addition to the home and away kits.
