Everton’s new away kit for 2012/13
Everton have unveiled their new away kit for the 2012/13 shirt. The new kit is Everton’s first to be designed by Nike, who replaced Le Coq Sportif as the club’s kit supplier, and is all black with yellow detailing. It has a classic pull-down collar and is made with Nike’s Dri-Fit fabric which is lightweight and designed to keep the body cool and comfortable. Nike make use of recycled material in the manufacturer of their kits with one full kit using up to 13 waste plastic bottles. The kit colour is a move away from the brighter colours, such as pink and gold, that Everton have chosen in recent seasons for their change strips.
Everton have played in all black before. In the 1880s when a few new players bought their old clubs’ kit with them it was decided for the sack of uniformity to dye all the kits black, which earned the club the nick name ‘The Black Watch”
Next season Everton after finishing strongly at the end of this campaign will be looking to kick on and end the season with at least a Europa League spot.
The kit will be available from June 23
