Blackburn Rovers’ new home kit for the 2012/13 season
Blackburn Rovers have released their new kit for the 2012/13 season. Made by Umbro, the shirt has seen the red trim of last season dropped, but will retain the blue and white quarters which has been the teams colours since their foundation in 1875. The club badge with the motto ‘arte et labore’ (meaning ‘by skill and hard work’) is on the left hand side of the chest. The shirt will be complemented with white shorts with a blue stripe on the side, and the club’s badge on the right leg. The socks will be white with five blue hoops.
With no sponsor yet announced for next season the shirts will be plain at first, and the sponsors name will be pressed on free of charge by the club at a later date, if the buyer wishes.
Blackburn Rovers, along with Aston Villa and Everton, are one of only three clubs to have been original members of the English Football League and the Premier League, which they won in 1995. However, following a troubled season last time around, Blackburn Rovers will be playing their football next season in the second tier of English football for the first time in over a decade, and will be looking for a quick return to the Premier League.
