Aston Villa’s new home & away kits for 2012/13

A new manager, and now new home and away kits for a new season, as Aston Villa seek to improve on last year’s disappointing performances under the new management of ex-Norwich City boss Paul Lambert.  The kit manufacturer, Italian sportswear company Macron, are also new, having taken over from Nike as the suppliers of Villa’s kit.

The home kit stays with Villa’s traditional colours of claret and blue, white shorts, and claret and blue socks.  The design, with a turn down blue collar, is reminiscent of Villa’s famous 1980/81 championship winning side.  Inside the neck the size tag is personalized with a yellow lion figure on a sky background.

In a move away from the white preferred in recent years, the away kit now consists of a lime shirt with navy blue trim, and a round neck, and navy blue shorts.

Villa’s new kit will get a pre-season work out when they travel to USA in July, where they play Philadelphia Union on the 18th, Chicago Fire on the 21st, and Portland Timbers on the 24th.
